The Friends of the Falconer Museum are delighted to announce the re-print of Alex Fraser's first book "A Glimpse of Forres of Yesteryear".

Alex kindly gave the "Friends" the authority to reprint the book so that we may raise funds to help in our aim of supporting the Falconer Museum.

The book was first published in 1989 and is full of photographs and accompanying detailed text depicting life in Forres in the first half of the 20th century.

Alex was a founding member of the Friends and served on the committee until February 2000 and was made Honorary President in April of that year.

Alex was well known for his considerable collection of local photographs and there was standing room only when his last illustrated slide show was presented to a packed Friends evening in the Museum in 1999.

The book is priced at £5.00 and is available from The Falconer Museum or via post..

Alex published a second booklet  "A Closer Look at Forres of Yesteryear" in 1996 this book costs only £1.00.
